Happy New Years Everyone!

I cannot wait to see what the 2012 year brings us! All I know is that I want to live a happy and healthy life with my husband and the pups and with family and friends. This coming year, my short term goals are to get Lasik (in the very near future), buy a new shelving unit for my living room (I'm already counting my pennies), working on the Store Envy shop(s) and blog, planning a weekend vacation with my hubby, losing weight *cough *cough and developing new product for the shop.

Oh yes, I also have 2 weddings planned for attendance, one in San Jose area, and the other in Napa Valley. So their will be a wedding - road trip in this year as well. I don't mind of course, because I adore weddings! And that being a guest at a wedding is so much more fun then planning the wedding. hehehe...

I hope everyone can enjoy their weekend! Before I start mine, we have to finish up our 5 Etsy Shop orders in waiting, and then I can have my new years weekend full of playing the board game Monopoly, doing a puzzle I got as a white elephant gift in 2010, watching American Horror Story and baking Macaroons! But of course that is what I want to do for my weekend. What I will most likely end up doing is working on Etsy, and the Storenvy shop. Whatever happens, I hope I fit in time to go watch the Rose Parade (since I live on the parade route) and I hope to clean up the house.

Good Bye 2011! We had a lovely time together.

Who I am...

This past weekend, my friend had me take a Jung Typology Test. Can I just say, it is pretty much the coolest test ever! It tells you all about yourself, and seems pretty dang accurate. It like reading your Zodiac sign and Chinese astrology all at one time! The test will take like around 15 minutes to finish, and afterward, it will put you into a personality category.

I am type: ISTJ

The ISTJ's word is as good as gold, and they honor their commitments faithfully. They believe that to do otherwise would be nothing less than a breach of honor and trustworthiness. Consequently, they take their vows very seriously, and once they have said "I do", that means they are bound to the relationship until "death do us apart" or otherwise. ISTJs are driven to fulfill their responsibilities and duties, and will do so with tireless effort. They will do their best to meet the obligations presented by the different relationship roles which they play during their lives, i.e. spouse, parent, offspring, etc. They may have difficulty showing warmth, but they frequently feel it in abundance, and most develop the ability to show it through sheer effort. If nothing else, the ISTJ holds the gold medal of all the personality types for Effort. They will put forth tremendous amounts of effort to accomplish goals which are important to them. If healthy relationships are among these goals, you can bet that the ISTJ will do everything that they can to foster and maintain healthy relationships.

My Strengths:
  • Honor their commitments
  • Take their relationship roles very seriously
  • Usually able to communicate what's on their minds with precision
  • Good listeners
  • Extremely good (albeit conservative) with money
  • Able to take constructive criticism well
  • Able to tolerate conflict situations without emotional upheaval
  • Able to dole out punishment or criticism when called for

My Weaknesses:
  • Tendency to believe that they're always right
  • Tendency to get involved in "win-lose" conversations
  • Not naturally in-tune with what others are feeling
  • Their value for structure may seem rigid to others
  • Not likely to give enough praise or affirmation to their loved ones

You can read more about my personality from here. What do you think, do you want to take the test? I don't believe in living your life by horoscopes or anything, but I must say, it is uncanny how accurate it is!

Hello Friday!

I'm so excited its finally Friday! Husband is on a long holiday overseas in Korea, so I get plenty of time to get things done while he is away! heheh... This weekend (hopefully I don't have to go to the office this weekend) I have to finish my Halloween costume which I making myself... I may tweet about it... Its not really wedding oriented, so I'm not sure if I will blog about it. Also, I want to update the blog as you can see. No major changes, just reorganizing my side buttons and etc... I also want to work on a DIY project for the blog this weekend. Lets hope all my goals get done! Cheers! And have a safe and happy holiday weekend!

Life Update:

Seriously, life has been so busy right now! Work has been busy, Etsy has been busy and design life have been busy. This past week I have been busy working at my office design job. I think I racked in 50+ hours this week (thank goodness I'm not on salary and get OT! hehehe). I also have been working on a logo for my manager's boyfriend. He's a photographer, and is starting a website for water influenced photography. Here is the final logo that was chosen:

What do you think of the banner/ logo I designed? Like it? The idea of the logo is suppose to be very streamlined, and very modern, and the background of the banner is a dual design concept; representing photos and or pixels of a photograph and a mosaic of a swimming pool or fountain.

This week has been not so much wedding oriented, but it was filled with design in other aspects of life, this weekend, I also helped out Traveling Bites with their blog design.

Traveling Bites is a travel and foodie based blog, so when I designed a blog layout, I wanted it to be bright white (not to distract from all the food photographs - I hate dark colored blogs and blogs with a lot of clutter). The Banner is meant to be a chalkboard, like in a cafe menu whereas the background is meant to represent subway tile in a kitchen back splash.

Here is also a version with a butcher block background, instead of the white subway tile. I, myself think I like the subway tile, but what do you think? I may be bias though, since I love light and very light neutral colors for blog design. The blog design is not completed yet, but it's getting there. We'll see what comes out as the final design :)

This weekend, I also went to my ZTA sorority's family reunion. It's been 5+ years since I have seen some of these girls, so it was fun and exciting to see everyone. If you aren't knowledgeable about sorority greek life, this wasn't a  sorority chapter reunion, instead it was a 'family' reunion, this means in a sorority, you have groups (or families) in which you belong in, much like a mini clic, in a sorority which is funny because a sorority is already a clic. hehehe... Anyhow, our family is called the "five star family" and it was lovely to see all of my old sorority sisters and exciting to meet some of the newer girls... Here are a few photos of the day. (Nancy, the coordinator said she used all her old sorority craft supplies when she planned and decorated the event... cute right?)

Everyone loves a good buffet! Especially one that is so well decorated!

Red velvet cupcakes? Yes, please! Actually I just licked the frosting :)
I'm a sucker for good frosting! sooo good...

We created a "Five Star Family Tree." Totally cute.

Sometimes I miss college (that's a lie. I always miss college! I had so much fun, and seemed like my only worries were about tests and homework, not grown up topics like bills, and health care. Oh well, we can't turn back time. But its nice to enjoy the memories once in a while.
